Lichen Planus
I have been recently diagnosed with this horrible horrible rash called Lichen planus to go along with the neurofibromatosis I was unfortunately born with So I wanted to write about it incase anyone gets it .
Lichen Planus
Lichen planus is a skin rash that is triggered by the immune system. ... It can be treated by using topical and oral medications to reduce symptoms, or by using drugs that suppress the immune system it itches like poison ivy and you might possibly think that is what it is at first because it itches so badly I went to my regular health provider 3 different times before I could get in to a dermatologist and that was almost a 2.month wait to see him. So like I said I started at my regular hat provodes They first treated it as scabies which IT WAS NOT SCABIES so a week later I was back this time they gave me a cortisteroid cream and a steroid shot and prescription of steroids well that's seemed to work well no itching at all till it wore off 2 trip to my regular dr 2 weeks later another steroid shot and more pills another script of the cream i asked for a bigger tube since the pics speak for themselves and wait for an appointment mean while I am trying anything to stop the itching whIle waiting to go to the dermatologist. I found that spraying alcohol on my spots everytime they itch and snearing the cream all over them it only helped a few hours at a time finally the time came to go to the dermatologist and he took one look and said lichen planus..
He gave me an antihistamine and antibiotics and just when I thought that cream couldn't come in a bigger tube it comes in a freaking 1lb jar๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ and an ointment at that, which to me is more messy than.the cream which also comes in the 1lb jar ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ
But as trying stuff a bath wit dial soap the gold bar also Epson salt soaks with lavender scent it really made my legs feel better another thing while my legs was wet I took the salts and tried to made a paste and put on the places and hold them out of water for at least 5 minutes or more. Sometimes it did burn a little but only cause I was scratching so bad .. The dermatologist also said it can get on your private areas and mouth ๐๐ luckily I don't have that problem thank god how ever they are mostly knee down bottom of the feET and wrist
